5 COMMON MAKEUP MISTAKES AND HOW TO AVOID THEM FOR A FLAWLESS LOOK

Hi lovelies. We all love experimenting with makeup to enhance our natural beauty, but sometimes, even the best of us can fall victim to some common makeup mistakes. Don't worry; I've got your back! In this blog, I'll walk you through the top five most common makeup blunders and show you how to steer clear of them, so you can create a flawless look every time.

  1. Blending is the Key to Perfection: Mistake: Have you ever seen someone with a clear makeup line separating their foundation from their neck? That's the result of not blending foundation properly! Mismatched foundation can be a disaster, leaving your face looking cakey, unnatural and aging your skin. Solution: Always choose a foundation that closely matches your skin tone and blend it seamlessly from the centre of the face out to the jaw line. If you have a natural tan you may need to pull your foundation down your neck to blend to the chest. I recommend using a makeup brush for a flawless complexion, my favourite is the Ciara Daly Hero Brush. Remember, a well-blended foundation is the foundation of a stunning makeup look! ciara daly hero brush easiest foundation brush quick application flawless results

  2. Bold Brows without the Wow: Mistake: Overdoing your eyebrows is a common pitfall. Thick, overly drawn eyebrows can give your face a harsh and artificial appearance. Solution: Embrace the natural shape of your eyebrows and use a brow pencil or powder to fill them in gently. Go for a shade that matches your hair colour and use short, feathery strokes for a more natural look. Keep in mind, eyebrows are sisters, not twins, so don't fret if they're not perfectly identical! My go to brow combo is Delilah Beautiful Brows Collection. If you don't have their Brow Shape in your life you are missing out. The Brow Pencil creates the most beautiful precise hair strokes. 3. Blush and Bronzer Overload: Mistake: I love adding colour back into the complexion but applying blush and bronzer too heavily can turn your complexion into a rosy or bronzed mess, making you look clownish or muddy. Solution: For a subtle flush of colour, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend it softly towards your temples. When using bronzer, focus on the areas where the sun naturally hits your face, like the forehead, temples, cheekbones, and jawline. Remember, a light touch is the secret to a natural-looking glow.

  4. Clumpy Lashes Are a No-Go: Mistake: Clumpy mascara is the bane of beautifully defined lashes. Applying too much mascara or not separating the lashes can lead to unsightly spider legs instead of long, voluminous lashes. Solution: To avoid clumps, wipe off excess mascara from the wand before applying. Use a lash comb or a clean spoolie brush to gently separate your lashes after applying mascara. Voila! You'll have fluttery lashes that will steal the show. My favourite buildable mascara without clumping is Delilah Intense Day to Night but if you prefer a glossier lash then try the Definitive Mascara by Delilah! delilah intense buildable mascara no clumping

  5. Neglecting the Power of Primer: Mistake: Skipping primer is like leaving your house without a solid foundation—it sets the stage for makeup mishaps throughout the day. Without primer, your makeup may not last as long, and you might experience issues like uneven application or settling into fine lines. Solution: Prioritize using a good-quality primer before applying your makeup. Primer creates a smooth canvas, minimizes pores, and helps your makeup stay put. Your skin will thank you, and your makeup will look flawless all day! I LOVE Delilah Underwear Primer and use it on most of my clients, for clients with super oily skin I opt for Benefit Porefessional. delilah underwear primer best primer uk
